If the stups ia a LATER structure, say of 3rd cent. BCE, Marshall has failed to demosntrate that there was continuous settlement at Mohenjo-daro from 2500 BCE to ca.300 BCE.Ziggurat is an enormous brick structure like a stepped pyramid (cf. Sit Shamshi bronze venerating the Sunrise). I posit that the so-called stupa is a ziggurat and contemporaneous with mature period of the civilization, ca. 2500 BCE and compares with the ziggurat in Chogha Zanbil.

The great bath surrounded by a brick colonnade, measures approximately 12 meters north-south and 7 meters wide, with a maximum depth of 2.4 meters. In the background is a massive brick structure with narrow passages that was first identified as a hammam or hot-air bath, and later as the state granary.![Image may contain: sky and outdoor]()
