Lies of New York Times

I was too hasty in giving credit to NYT Editorial work for posting a correction. It is also likely, that editors have doctored the comments.

This does no credit to the editors of NYT. The goof-up of misreporting a fact, exposing the lies of NYT goes to the alert readers who have commented.

So, in all fairness, I should give credit to Hindus and comments made by readers on NYT oped, who caught the NYT lie and forced NYT to acknowledge it.

This is a list of NYT lies:

1) The book was never banned.

2) India does NOT have blasphemy laws. (NYT allows untrue statements as facts).

3) Hindus did not create the laws criminalizing homosexuality since we never cared about it. (NYT is trying to cover up this lie now by issuing a 'correction' which is duplicitous in any case).

4) The claim that Wendy D is a Jewish should be taken with a pinch of salt since she married a Christian named O'Flaherty and pushed the claim that the so-called Saint Thomas was a real person.

5) The claim that Hindus said it was good Hitler killed Jews. She has to produce the emails with IP address and certified by the system administrator at Uchicago's IT division or else it is a fake claim.

Summing up:

A. UChicago President, Rector and officials have a serious problem to wrestle on their hands. The UChicago faculty of law and Divinity School are broken. They need urgent fixing with or without Pres. Obama's help.

B. NYT editorial work is sloppy and needs to be fixed.

C. A whitehouse petition has crossed the first threshold and can be signed asking President and Capitol Hill to constitute a Commission of Inquiry into Hindu Studies in American academe.

About the petition:

  • It is done to help protect the rights of people who share our beliefs.
  • And of our children and grandchildren
  • It is a product of careful, painstaking work by some dedicated people.
  • It will tell US lawmakers that we should not be ignored
  • It will send a message that Hindus can unite.
  • It does not cost you a penny
  • You don't have to be a US citizen
  • You don't have to be registered to vote
  • You just need to provide an email address and a zip code
  • If you are outside the USA, that is also no problem
  • Your full name will not be displayed.
  • No comments are needed. This is to avoid having the petition derailed by hostile entities, as happened some time ago when a certain powerful university became uncomfortable as over 50,000 people signed a peaceful protest against their abusive behavior within a week.

It will take you a moment of your valuable time to register at the site. I did, it is very easy.  Actually I DO approve it, it is succinct and to the point, on a deeply complex subject.

Thank you. And please send this along to people whom you know. The first 71 signors are listed in the attached document.

Petition text:
We petition the Obama administration to create a US Commission of Inquiry into Hindu religious studies in US academe respect civil rights

http://goo.gl/ImuWcc

We call upon Pres. Obama to institute a Commission of Inquiry into the status and practices of Hindu studies in US academe.

Repeated instances of insulting 'scholarship' couched as 'Hindu studies' cause tensions in the relationship between two sovereign nations: USA and India.

It is time to put an end to this theater of the absurd to sustain US leadership in academia the world-over.

Will Durant, American historian: "India was the motherland of our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages: she was the mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity; mother, through the village community, of self-government and
democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all"

Why initiate a White House Petition: From the White House website:

"Introduction

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

-The First Amendment, United States Constitution

The right to petition your government is guaranteed by the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. We the People provides a new way to petition the Obama Administration to take action on a range of important issues facing our country. We created We the People because we want to hear from you. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure it’s sent to the appropriate policy experts, and issue an official response.

The idea of petitioning the White House or the government isn’t new, but this online platform is. Since the White House has never featured anything like this, we expect to make some adjustments to improve the platform based on how people use the system and your feedback. We may change the signature threshold so that the workload for responding to petitions in a timely fashion is manageable. You can always view the current signature thresholds on the Terms of Participation page.

As we make adjustments to how the system works, we’ll keep you posted on those changes using the White House blog, and you can see all blog posts related to We the People. And if you have any specific suggestions to improve We the People please let us know.
