Several others sold for between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 5 lakh Rs 100-crore value: Mamata added: “I have gifted small paintings to hundreds of people because they liked them. I am not a painter. People have accepted the creation of my hands. If I had sold these paintings, they would have fetched Rs 100 crore.” Use of funds (updated): “After becoming chief minister, I donated Rs 1.10 crore to the chief minister’s relief fund and another Rs 10 lakh to the governor’s relief fund. I did not take a single penny. The money went to the account of Jago Bangla (the party mouthpiece).” Use of funds (then): On February 7, 2013, Mamata had said: “From the funds raised from the exhibition (at the Townhall annexe), I have decided to donate Rs 10 lakh to the governor’s relief fund and Rs 25 lakh to the chief minister’s relief fund. I will give Rs 5 lakh each to our three candidates contesting the by-elections. The rest of the money would go to the Spastics Society.” |
