বাংলাদেশে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সফরসঙ্গী ব্যবসায়ী শিবাজি পাঁজা গ্রেফতার। আর্থিক কেলেঙ্কারির অভিযোগে গতকাল শিবাজি পাঁজাকে কলকাতা বিমানবন্দরে প্রথমে আটক করে অভিবাসন দফতর। পরে এনএস সিবিআই থানার হাতে তুলে দেওয়ার পর ব্যবসায়ী শিবাজি পাঁজাকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়, বিধাননগর কমিশনারেট সূত্রে খবর।গ্রেফতারির পরেই অসুস্থ দাবি করে হাসপাতালে ভর্তি হন শিবাজি পাঁজা। আজ ব্যারাকপুর আদালতে তোলা হবে ধৃত শিবাজী পাঁজাকে। একটি আর্থিক কেলেঙ্কারির অভিযোগের ভিত্তিতে শিবাজির বিরুদ্ধে গত ১৯ তারিখ লুক আউট নোটিস জারি করেছিল দিল্লি পুলিশ। তার আগেই মমতার সফরসঙ্গী হয়ে বাংলাদেশ চলে যান শিবাজি পাঁজা। গতকাল রাতে বাংলাদেশ থেকে ফেরার পর কলকাতা বিমানবন্দর থেকে তাঁকে গ্রেফতার করা হয়। ইতিমধ্যেই দিল্লি পুলিশকে জানানো হয়েছে। দিল্লি পুলিশের একটি দল কলকাতায় আসছে। এই দল শহরে না আসা পর্যন্ত এয়ারপোর্ট থানার হেফাজতে রাখা হয়েছে শিবাজিকে।

KOLKATA: Shibaji Panja, an entrepreneur and member of the West Bengal government's task force on information and culture, has been held by the customs department over an alleged financial fraud.
Panja had accompanied Mamata on her trip to Bangladesh that ended on Saturday. He has been a close aide of the West Bengal chief minister who also helped crafting the 'brand Mamata'.

The entrepreneur was detained by the police on his return from the Bangladesh trip at the immigration counter itself.
Reportedly, a team of Delhi Police was on a look out for him and had issued a notice for the same on February 19. They were looking for him in an economic offense case, the details of which were not available till early morning on Sunday.
Panja, it should be noted, is member of the Kolkata International Film Festival committee. Reportedly, he is one of prime organizers of Mamata's art exhibitions and is described as Mamata's "Man everyday".
His arrest adds to the embarrassment of West Bengal CM as her party is already marred in controversy over Saradha chit fund scam.
Til the latest news, he had been brought to the Barrackpore court.

A Kolkata based businessman who was part of Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee's entourage to Bangladesh has been arrested at Kolkata airport.
Shibaji Panja was arrested on Saturday night soon after his arrival from Dhaka. A look-out notice was issued by the Delhi police on February 19 in an economic offence case.
Panja is one of those prominent businessmen in Kolkata who is extremely close to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Over the past few years he has often been seen around the CM at various programmes.
Panja was detained at the airport's immigration counter, and soon handed over to the airport police station.
A team of Delhi Police will take charge of Panja. He is presently admitted in the Bidhannagar hospital after he complained of illness.
A small time businessman, Panja has business interests in television channels. He is also a member of the Kolkata International Film Festival committee which organises Mamata's pet programme every year
He is also believed to be one of main organisers of exhibitions of chief minister Mamata Banerjee's paintings.

Panja is a businessman who has become increasingly close to the chief minister over the past years and is often seen around her in various programmes.
According to sources, he was detained at the airport's immigration counter after he returned to Kolkata with the CM's entourage, and then handed over to the NSCB airport police station.
A team of Delhi Police will take charge of Panja.
