Arun Jaitley's family used Navy chopper to attend wedding, alleges activist

A Goa-based activist on Thursday asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order an inquiry into the alleged misuse of a naval helicopter by the family of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to attend a wedding.
In a complaint to Modi, activist and lawyer Aires Rodrigues claimed that Jaitley's wife Sangeeta and daughter Sonali, who arrived in Goa on December 23 by an Indigo flight 6E-335 to attend a wedding, were flown by a naval chopper from Dabolim airport to a resort at Canacona in South Goa.
Rodrigues also alleged that the misuse of the naval helicopter was at the instance of Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and contrary to Modi's ideas of good governance and probity in public life. He said it was an irony that on the day the Modi government has declared as Good Governance Day, he had to seek his intervention in the matter.
Rodrigues has sought Modi's immediate intervention and prompt action in the matter and has demanded that the Centre should recover the expenditure incurred in ferrying his wife and daughter by the naval helicopter from Jaitley.
Seeking action within 15 days, the activist-lawyer has threatened that if no action is taken, he will move the Bombay High Court at Goa for appropriate orders.
