Ahmedabad: The morale of the Congress camp in Gujarat has hit a new low in the state.
This was revealed after a senior party leader trained guns on the media for wide scale coverage of Chief Minister Narendra Modi, saying that it affected the party's chance in the 2012 assembly elections.
Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Naran Rathwa accused the media for playing up the exit polls results that predict a rout for the Opposition in Gujarat.
A visibly frustrated Rathwa said that he will file a case against the media for influencing the public opinion by endorsing the chief minister.
The Congress leader further said if the results predicted by the exit polls hold true, then all elected Congress MLAs will submit their resignations and demand a re-election.
He also alleged that there was wide scale rigging in electronic voting machines during the Gujarat elections.
Rathwa comments came after media carrying out an outwrite victory for the chief minister.
Although, Rathwa's comments were the first by a Congress leader, the party has not come out in support of the leader or challenged him.
